BA (Honours) in Media Technologies

Overview
The BA (Honours) in Media Technologies is a Level 8 degree that immerses students in the evolving landscape of digital media, creative communication, and emerging technologies. Designed for students interested in media production, film, broadcasting and creative industries, the programme provides an interdisciplinary exploration of how media is developed, produced and critically understood within contemporary professional and cultural contexts.
Media production is a creative, fast-moving field where ideas become films, digital content, audio, animation, and interactive experiences that reach real audiences. You’ll learn how to tell powerful stories using professional tools and industry-standard workflows, while developing technical, creative, and collaborative skills that are in demand across media, advertising, gaming, and digital industries. It’s a hands-on, future-focused pathway into a wide range of careers where creativity and technology meet.
Through a combination of practical and academic modules, students gain specialised knowledge and technical competencies that prepare them for employment in media production, creative industries, and technology-driven creative roles. The programme also promotes autonomy, reflective practice, and lifelong learning, supporting graduates to adapt to evolving media technologies and progress in their professional development.
Ethical awareness, professional responsibility, and effective communication are embedded throughout, ensuring graduates can create and disseminate media content responsibly within diverse cultural, legal, and organisational contexts. Students also develop collaboration, leadership, and project management skills through applied projects and team-based production work.
